Why did we put hyaluronic acid in Dewty?

Okay, so you’ve heard us rave about Collagen (just a little bit, right!?). Whilst it’s the key ingredient in our dewtiful formula, it’s not the ONLY one. And trust us, there’s method in our madness (or mixture).

When we formulated the product, we also packed 6 additional beautifying ingredients into our little peachy sachets. Why? Because we wanted to create a product that combined THE best beauty ingredients on the planet in one easily-drinkable format and that gave our beauties THE most effective results.

Let’s delve a little further into why we chose to put a healthy dose of Hyaluronic Acid into our Daily Dewty Collagen Drink.

What actually is hyaluronic acid?

Well, it’s a clear, gooey substance that is naturally produced by your body. It can be found in your skin, connective tissue and eyes. Its main function is to help your body retain water, which is why it keeps your skin soft, hydrated and plump.

What does hyaluronic acid do?

Our very own cells hold hyaluronic acid naturally in a bid to help maintain moisture. But like our collagen levels, our levels of hyaluronic also decline as we age due to the impact of environmental aggressors such as UV rays, sunlight and pollution.

In recent years, hyaluronic acid has become a HOT name in the skincare game, with the press and celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Gwyneth Paltrow including the ingredient in their skincare routine.

Here’s the science-y bit. Just one gram of hyaluronic acid has the ability to hold a MASSIVE six litres of water. Add to that, the ability to regulate moisture within the skin’s cells and you’ve got one clever lil’ ingredient.

What does this means? Well, it means it makes it amazing at:

🍑 Reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

🍑 Keeps your skin super moisturised and radiant

🍑 It’s an antioxidant so it helps to keep skin looking healthy

🍑 It’s got mega healing properties and has been shown to help with wound healing

🍑Has been shown to reduce redness

Why should you take it as a supplement?

Hyaluronic has been a key ingredient in skincare products for decades and is a popular component in serums and moisturisers.

So, why take it as a supplement? Why not just use a serum?

Supplementing your skin with hyaluronic acid every day for at least a month has been shown to significantly increase your skin’s moisture and reduce dry skin.

The more hydrated your skin is, the less likely fine lines and wrinkles are likely to form - making your skin smoother and younger-looking.
